Livinia Nixon: Age, Husband, Children and Channel 9 Career
Most Australians who watch the evening news have a mental picture of Livinia Nixon: the warm, familiar presenter who kept showing up across Nine’s travel and news programs until she signed off from the Melbourne weather desk in November 2025 — and the question then wasn’t whether she’d left TV, but what came next. This profile separates the verified facts of her age, family, and Channel 9 career from the queries no source can yet answer.

Key facts at a glance
Six records, one pattern: the public file is detailed on career dates and deliberately thin on family specifics.
| Detail | Value | Confirmed by |
|---|---|---|
| Born | 19 March 1975, Melbourne, Victoria | Official biography |
| Nationality | Australian | Official biography |
| Husband | Alistair Jack | realestate.com.au |
| Children | Two sons, Henry and Ted | Official biography |
| Major roles | Getaway, Postcards, Nine News, TODAY, TODAY Extra | Only Melbourne profile |
| Education | Commerce/Arts degree, Deakin University | Only Melbourne profile |
The pattern: the career timeline is sourced; the family details only go as far as Nixon chooses.
What nationality is Livinia Nixon?
Livinia Nixon is Australian. Her official biography places her birth in Melbourne, Victoria, and both her career and family life have stayed firmly in that city. Unlike many national television faces, she never relocated to Sydney to chase a bigger network — the presenting work came to her.
Born on 19 March 1975, Nixon has been on Australian screens for nearly three decades — the kind of run that makes “who’s replacing her?” feel premature.
What are Livinia Nixon’s main presenting roles?
- Getaway host and Postcards presenter — roles Yahoo Lifestyle Australia says continue after the weather sign-off (Yahoo Lifestyle Australia)
- Nine News Melbourne weather presenter from 2004 to 2025 (Wikipedia’s biographical listing)
- Earlier work on Hey Hey It’s Saturday and Postcards, per Only Melbourne’s career profile (Only Melbourne)
The pattern: a list of shows that reads like one job description — a presenter who can hold a travel segment, a studio chat, and a live weather cross in the same week. That versatility is why her sign-off from the desk didn’t trigger a network exit.
Who is replacing Livinia Nixon?
Short answer: no one has been officially named. Yahoo Lifestyle Australia reported the sign-off as a “very difficult decision” (Yahoo Lifestyle Australia) and noted she is expected to keep presenting Getaway and Postcards.
Is Livinia Nixon retiring?
There is no retirement announcement in the provided sources. The Yahoo report describes a reduced slate — travel and lifestyle — not a goodbye to television.
- Getaway and Postcards continue, according to the same report (Yahoo Lifestyle Australia)
- Nine has not published a formal lineup change for the Melbourne weather desk
The pattern: “replacement” searches are asking a question the sources haven’t answered yet, because the role she left is narrower than the career she keeps.
How old are Livinia Nixon’s children?
Here the public record goes quiet. Nixon has two sons, Henry and Ted, named in her official biography. Their birthdates do not appear in the official bio or in the secondary profiles reviewed for this article.
Who are Livinia Nixon’s children?
- Two sons named Henry and Ted (Official biography)
- No birthdates or exact ages are published in the sourced material
Is Livinia Nixon’s husband’s age known?
- Her husband is Alistair Jack, described by realestate.com.au as a builder, construction professional and property developer
- His exact age is not documented in the provided sources
Why this matters: Nixon’s bio is open about her career and closed about her family. Repeated search queries won’t change a boundary the presenter has kept intact for decades.
How old is Scherri-Lee Biggs?
Scherri-Lee Biggs is the name that keeps surfacing in Nine-weather questions, usually alongside age, marriage, and pregnancy queries. The provided sources do not contain a verified birthdate or biography for Biggs, which means any specific number offered elsewhere is not corroborated here.
When a search question has no citable answer, speculation fills the vacuum. Biggs’s age and personal life are exactly that kind of vacuum in the current record.
Who is Scherri-Lee Biggs?
- Associated with Channel 9 weather presenting in people-also-ask search data
- No verified birthdate appears in the sourced material reviewed for this profile
The takeaway: related-questions sections measure curiosity, not biography.
Who is Daniel Venables married to?
People-also-ask data repeatedly links Daniel Venables and Scherri-Lee Biggs as a married couple. That connection is a search pattern, not a sourced fact: the material reviewed here contains no marriage record, official announcement, or interview in which either party confirms it.
What is Daniel Venables’s connection to Scherri-Lee Biggs?
- Search queries pair Venables and Biggs as spouses
- No official confirmation of the marriage appears in the provided sources
What this means: the demand for the answer is real, but the public confirmation isn’t.
Livinia Nixon’s career timeline
Four moments, one pattern: long runs, local loyalty, and an exit that kept her employed at the same network.
| When | What happened | Counted by |
|---|---|---|
| Late 1990s | Recruited by Channel Nine after finishing university | Official biography |
| January 1998 | Joined Hey Hey It’s Saturday as a permanent team member | Only Melbourne profile |
| 2004 | Became full-time Nine News Melbourne weather presenter | Only Melbourne profile |
| November 2025 | Signed off after 21 years; Getaway and Postcards continue | Yahoo Lifestyle Australia |
Wikipedia also logs acting credits alongside the presenting work, including Blue Heelers and a 2014 role in The Leftovers (Wikipedia). The pattern: the 2004 weather role lasted 21 years, and the network kept her — the rare case where a “departure” was really a reshuffle.
What’s confirmed and what’s not
Confirmed facts
- Born 19 March 1975 in Melbourne, Victoria (Official biography)
- Australian nationality (Official biography)
- Two sons named Henry and Ted (Official biography)
- Husband identified as Alistair Jack (realestate.com.au)
- Continuing with Getaway and Postcards (Yahoo Lifestyle Australia)
What’s unclear
- Exact date of her final Nine News Melbourne weather bulletin — reported by Wikipedia as November 2025, not officially confirmed
- Exact ages and birthdates of Henry and Ted
- Alistair Jack’s age and full professional background
- Whether Nine will name a direct replacement for the Melbourne weather desk
- Scherri-Lee Biggs’s birthdate, marriage details, and pregnancy reports
- What happens to Nine’s Melbourne weather timeslot in 2026
The split is instructive: career facts are public, family facts are private, and search data keeps asking for the private ones.
In her own words
Two statements frame how Nixon presents herself — one about leaving a desk, one about what stays private.
“Very difficult decision.”
— Yahoo Lifestyle Australia, reporting Nixon’s sign-off
“Author, ambassador for Land Rover, and mother to Henry and Ted.”
— Livinia Nixon’s official biography
The pattern: when Nixon introduces herself, she leads with roles and family — not with a resignation date.
The takeaway
Livinia Nixon is still a working Nine presenter: the nightly weather role ended in November 2025, but Getaway and Postcards continue (Yahoo Lifestyle Australia). The gaps in the record — children’s ages, husband’s age, a named successor, Scherri-Lee Biggs’s details — are data gaps, not career endings. For Channel 9’s Melbourne viewers, the choice is clear: wait for Nine’s official lineup announcement, or keep chasing the same unanswered questions on rumor pages.
